In the early 2000s, it was probably less than the culture, as people used to look for quick ways to express feelings or urgent situations when writing. “God to God” is a normal painted phrase, and to shorten it to “stg“, followed by the tendency to create a short name such as LOL, OMG, or IDK for fast digital communication. Popularity increased with the increase in mobile messages, social media, and Meme culture. While Stg’s military or economic contexts also have different meanings, which “swear to God,” its slang use occurs from receiving informal, condensed English and online to receive traction among the youth.
