Is Gratitude Better Shared or Journaled? Tried a New App & Curious About Your Thoughts

    Hey everyone,
Lately I’ve been looking for simple ways to strengthen relationships and build better daily habits. I’ve tried the usual things—journaling, mood tracking, mindfulness apps—but they always felt like solo activities. Helpful, yes, but not something that actually connects you with people.

Recently, I came across a gratitude app called Urokz, and it introduced a totally different idea:
Instead of writing affirmations privately, you send them to people in your life as small “Pennies of Affirmation.”

    It’s pretty straightforward:
    • You create a circle of friends, partners, or family
    • Send them short gratitude messages (the “pennies”)
    • They can send some back
    • And it becomes a small daily exchange of appreciation

The concept originated from a therapist who used it to help married couples break negative cycles and rebuild trust. Now the app generalizes it for all kinds of relationships—friends, coworkers, or anyone who could use a positive nudge.

    What I like so far:

It feels more meaningful than just journaling alone.

It turns affirmation into a social experience.

The reminders make it easy to stay consistent.

The messages are small but surprisingly impactful.

For anyone who struggles with communication or wants to improve relationship habits, it seems like a cool idea. Sending a quick “I appreciate you” or “You matter” actually goes a long way.

Has anyone else tried apps like this that focus on shared positivity instead of individual journaling?
Do you think gratitude works better when it’s expressed to others, or do you prefer keeping it private?

Would love to hear your thoughts or recommendations!
