Best way to structure donation flows for a new charity WordPress site?

Hi everyone,
I’m building a charity website in WordPress from scratch, and I’m unsure about the best way to structure a clean, secure donation flow.

Should I rely on a Granny Game dedicated plugin (GiveWP, Charitable…) or build a custom donation form to keep things lightweight? I’d like something stable, easy to maintain, and transparent for donors.

If you have experience with reliable setups, recommended plugins, or must-avoid mistakes, I’d really appreciate your guidance.
