It’s no secret that the Lions are built on grit. The team has taken on the identity of the city, and it’s played a major factor in Detroit making a postseason run.During the Lions’ divisional round contest against the Buccaneers, no one exemplified that toughne s more than center Frank Ragnow. The Pro Bowl offensive lineman wasn’t letting any injury keep him out of playing in another home playoff game in Motor City. Despite another player landing his ankle in the second quarter, Ragnow remained in the game for the Lions. His toughne s paid off. In the third quarter, Lions head coach Dan Campbell elected to go for it on fourth-and-goal in a tied game rather than take the short field goal. The gamble paid off, as Craig Reynolds punched in the 1-yard touchdown, putting Detroit ahead 17-10.MORE:The reason why Reynolds had a gap? Ragnow made a sensational block on the monstrous Vita Vea, giving the Lions running back enough room to punch it in.4th and Goal? Lions are going for it.: on NBC: Stream on NFL (@NFL) Ragnow is as tough a customer as they come, and he has been a key component for the Lions’ succe s this season even when he’s not operating at 100%.Frank Ragnow injuryWith le s than two minutes left in the first half, the Lions were facing third-and-1 at midfield. However, on a pa sing play, Buccaneers defensive end Calijah Kancey beat his man off the line and was able to bring Jared Goff down for a sack. While Goff was falling, he landed on Ragnow’s leg, causing the Lions center to Nasir Adderley Jersey bend back in pain. He came up wincing, grabbing at his left knee as he hobbled off the field.Ragnow had a conversation with Lions trainers, where he was seen as if to say, “It is what is I’m staying in.”The 27-year-old center remained in the game, starting in the middle of the line in the third quarter. He later made that key block on Vea at the goal line, once again aggravating the ankle when a Buccaneer fell on it.Frank Ragnow is an absolute warrior Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) Ragnow was stellar in the win for the Lions, allowing just one pre sure against a stout Bucs front seven.Sunday was certainly not the first time Ragnow has shown his strength of will. This is the same player that once played through a during the 2020 season. It’s that kind of attitude that makes the Detroit faithful love this Lions group.
