Been mucking about with building stuff lately, and keeping wondering how are fire doors manufactured . From what I gather, they’re not just thick bits of wood – there’s layers of special stuff inside to resist fire, glue, maybe metal strips, and a proper frame. Makers gotta label ’em with the cert time. Anyone else ever peek inside one?
Took me a while to figure out how fire doors are actually put together too – it’s way more layered than it looks. Insulation cores, intumescent seals, reinforced frames… all that.
