Is there actually a “best time” to book hotels? I’ve heard everything from “book six months early” to “wait until the last minute.” I’ve been burned by both — overpaying early once and losing rooms by waiting too long. What actually works in 2025?
That’s a classic struggle. The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer — it depends on where and when you’re going. But what’s helped me is using hotel price tracker. I pick a few hotels I like, paste their links, and let it watch them. It sends me an email when one drops in price, and it even graphs out the historical highs and lows. For instance, I was planning a Croatia trip last summer, and one hotel I wanted went from €210 to €158 in a single week. Without the tracker, I would’ve booked at full price. I now track 3–4 hotels per trip and just wait for alerts. It’s made planning a lot more chill because I don’t feel pressured to “guess” the right moment anymore.
That sounds like a smart move. I always panic-book thinking the price will skyrocket, but maybe I just need to start tracking instead of stressing over it.
