I had a few nightmares with that myself — one batch worked fine, and the next one was like using tap water. I started keeping a small QC log in my lab notebook for each batch, tracking signal strength and dilution ratios. It helped me notice patterns early. It’s amazing how much time you can save just by documenting everything properly instead of assuming it’s “just the sample.”
I think it could go either way. Sometimes playful mistakes help you learn, but other times you just repeat them..
